Job summary

Oakmount Dental in South Burnaby, Canada, is seeking a Dental Assistant to join a team with 25+ years of service. The role includes room prep, assisting dentists and hygienists, taking X-rays, infection control, patient education, scheduling support, and collaboration with the team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Candidates must be registered/certified as a Dental Assistant with the provincial regulatory body; prior dental assisting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Schedule:

Monday: 12:00 pm tp 8:00pm

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00am to 4:00pm

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $31-$36/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

About You:
