Job summary

The Licensed Automotive Technician at Canadian Tire Store S works in a fast-paced auto service environment, providing expertise in automotive systems, diagnostics and repairs. The role involves performing inspections, estimates and repairs, and communicating clearly with customers and the service team.

Qualifications

Valid mechanic’s licence and driver’s licence for province of employment.
Physical demands: standing/walking for 8 hours, lifting and carrying items.
Shifts: days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Approachable and customer-focused.
Works well in fast-paced environment.
Able to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
Knowledge of current automobile technology.
Experience with computerized systems.
Results-oriented approach to repairs and service.
Excellent communication and instruction skills.
Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
Good working knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, explain procedures and repairs and discuss any additional maintenance work.
Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, estimates and repairs.
Complete and review repair orders and vehicle inspection reports with Service Advisors.
Communicate with Service Manager, Service Advisors, Installer and Parts personnel.
Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports.
Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owners.
Stay current with operation, maintenance and repair knowledge.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
