Position(s): Certified Substitute Teachers (Alberta)
Location:Various Schools
Start date: 2024-2025 School Year

Fort McMurray Catholic School Division requires certified teachers or teachers eligible for certification to substitute teach in the Division. A Substitute Teacher is a casual teacher of various subjects from our Kindergarten to Grade 12. Often our temporary teaching positions are filled from our Certified Substitute list. Being aSubstituteis a great way to experience different classroom environments and the ability to work withinaflexiblework schedule.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage students properly and minimize distractions while encouraging student participation
  • Be attentive to the individual needs of students, ensure they understand the learning material and clarify any questions or concerns
  • Supervise students in the classroom, in school hallways, on the playground, and during breaks
  • Provide any assignments based on the lesson plan designed by the regular Teacher
  • In case of a long-term role, develop lesson plans and assignments that coincide with the original plan designed by the regular Teacher
