Founded in 1974, CIT has evolved from a summer program into a vital institution offering a three-year conservatory-style post-secondary program rooted in Indigenous knowledge and performance traditions. Located in Toronto’s West End, CIT offers diverse classes and supports Indigenous storytellers and theatre professionals.
The Opportunity
CIT seeks Advisory Council Members to guide and support its mission. Members provide counsel, contribute expertise, and champion Indigenous cultural expression. Terms are typically two to three years, with meetings in Toronto or virtually, and travel costs are reimbursed.
Desired Experience and Competencies
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to Indigenous cultural expression, respect Indigenous ways of knowing, and possess relevant experience in areas such as cultural leadership, performance arts, education, finance, governance, or community organization. A strong desire to mentor and support emerging Indigenous artists is valued.
