Job summary

Carlisle Companies is seeking an Operator to join its production team in a unionized setting. You will learn and apply all policies to manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced environment, working independently and with a partner operator. You must stay accurate and safe, with no travel required.

Expected hours are 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday to Sunday. This fully onsite position emphasizes PPE, lockout procedures, daily production sheets, and clear communication with winders and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to three years in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience working with manufacturing machines is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Understand PPE requirements and follow safety policies.
  • Ability and understanding of any applicable equipment lock out (electrical and air lock out).
  • Knowledge of safety interlocks.
  • Understand work order information and documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of appropriate work instruction and product types/quality requirements.
  • Ability to complete daily housekeeping activities in packing area and any other area assigned. Ensure all unused labels are returned to proper spot after completed run.
  • Ensure proper labeling and product identification for all materials.
  • Ability to complete the required information on daily production sheets (correct date, shift, product tally, Seconds totals, etc.)
  • Ensure all rejected product is identified, segregated, and tallied.Monitor and adjust conveyor system, automatic labeler, arpac shrink baggers and new automated packing system to ensure consistent flow of product.
  • Clearly communicate with Winders and Line Operators with regards to quality, upcoming changeover and status of production quantities of the required run. Monitor status of actual quantities versus production requirements
  • Ability to complete changeovers in all areas of central pack area. (conveyors, arpacs, labelers and automated packing system). Ensure proper film is prepped for changeovers and roll changes
  • Help ensure part skids are identified and used at the start of each run, and properly identified at the end of each run. Interaction with Line feeders
  • Assures that no telescoped rolls outside of limits of acceptability are packaged. Works with Winder/Supervisor to correct.
  • Clearly understand the quality criteria for telescoping, proper core location (free of damage), and the location of last wraps on the roll to avoid the bottom of the rolls from being damaged while being placed on the wooden skids. (specifically base and cap type products)
  • Assures that rolls do not have pick-off or film damage due to dirty or improperly adjusted rollers.
  • Assures that rolls marked for rework and or seconds do not go out with finished product.
  • Ability to determine correct roll labels, roll stickers, skid tags, wooden pallets, cardboard toppers and any other packaging requirements as outlined on the product work order are being used.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by team leader.

Job Summary

This position is a unionized role within our production team. As an Operator, you will be required to learn, understand, and put into practice all of our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with another operators. You must be able to work in an environment with distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties. No travel is required for this position.

Expected hours of work is Monday – Sunday; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm& 7:00 pm – 7:00

Duties And Responsibilities

Working Conditions

Manufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings

Additional Information

This is a fully onsite position. The employee is expected to be physically present at their designated work location during scheduled hours. In-person attendance is essential for collaboration, access to onsite resources, and the performance of job responsibilities.
