Job summary

Applied Biological Materials (abm) Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join the Cell Biology team in Richmond, BC.

The role focuses on coordinating customer orders, preparing cell-based products for shipment, and supporting routine cell culture while working closely with laboratory, production, customer service and shipping teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience from work, co-op, internship, or academic lab.
• Experience with order fulfillment, shipping preparation, inventory tracking, or laboratory logistics.
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain complete, organized records.
• Strong communication and coordination across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cell biology orders from internal request through product preparation, documentation, and shipment readiness.
• Communicate with Customer Service, Sales, Production, Quality Control, and Shipping to confirm order requirements, priorities and timelines.
• Track order progress, flag inventory shortages or delays, and follow up with relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Support routine cell culture, including cell maintenance, passaging, freezing, thawing, counting, and viability checks as needed.
• Verify product identity, quantity, labeling, storage requirements, and accompanying records before release for shipment.
