As a category expert in the food industry, this role is responsible for driving the enrichment, accuracy, and strategic structuring of product content across digital platforms to support B2B commerce. Acting as a critical link between vendor partners and cross-functional teams—including marketing, eCommerce ,merchandising, search and our client’s Product Information Management (PIM) team.

Key responsibilities include identifying and addressing content gaps, defining content standards, and optimizing product data to enhance discoverability, relevance, and conversion. The role is essential in enabling scalable content enrichment processes, maintaining high data quality standards, and contributing to a seamless customer experience in a B2B food distribution environment.

Role responsibilities

Act as the subject matter expert for food-related product content, including attributes, claims, classifications, and regulatory considerations.

Establish and manage relationships with vendors / suppliers to drive content completeness and ensure consistent data delivery through the vendor portal

Take ownership of one or more product categories and drive their growth through targeted content enrichment initiatives.

Identify and prioritize content gaps or inconsistencies using category-level KPIs, customer insights, and platform analytics

Lead category attribution and enrichment efforts, ensuring accurate classification and taxonomy alignment to improve filterability and search results

Recommend and validate product claims in accordance with food industry standards and compliance guidelines

Collaborate with the PIM team to implement structured enrichment workflows and maintain content governance across data sources

Create and manage category landing page structures, applying consistent tagging and messaging aligned with merchandising strategies

Review and analyze category-level KPIsto identify content improvement opportunities and measure enrichment impact.

Ensure all enriched content contributes to an optimized, compliant, and conversion- friendly B2B customer experience

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

Prior experience in the food industry required

PIM experience or strong skills in product information management.

Technical skills on product data modeling

Analytics skills (Google Analytics, Adobe Launch, PowerBI or Tableau)

Ability to work with multiple teams and communicate with various levels of stakeholders

Experience with suppliers

Experience in B2B distribution
