Position Overview

A Category Analyst plays a key role in analyzing market trends and shopper behavior to enhance product offerings and sales strategies. This role involves supporting the Category Insights Executives in identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The analyst leads data analysis from various sources, including retailer databases, and provides reports on category trends. Additionally, the analyst prepares detailed reports and dashboards to track and visualize category performance.

Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data sources such as Nielsen, IRI, and retailer POS data to generate insights and reports that inform category management decisions.
  • Provide monthly key insights to sales to support sell-in plans.
  • Support teams with data-driven insights for presentations, new item launches, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in low-priority customer category management as a skill development opportunity with potential career growth.
  • Dashboard Management: Build tools to deliver business intelligence at the retailer level, such as tracking reports and KPI scorecards, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to leverage data from multiple sources to generate reports supporting category growth and business strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in category analytics, data analysis, consumer research, or sales within the CPG industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Springboard, PowerBI, Tableau, retailer POS systems, and JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning software is an asset.
  • Ability to handle complex projects efficiently, understanding business priorities.
  • Ownership of results, integrity, and commitment.
  • Passion for learning and growth.
  • Understanding of in-store execution practices.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in presenting ideas.

Pay and Benefits

We are committed to fair and equitable compensation.

Salary Range: $76,000 - $99,700, plus a 10% target short-term incentive and approximately $11,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including health, dental, vision, retirement, wellness incentives, and EAP.

The salary range is an estimate based on current market conditions and may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
