Job Description

We are currently recruiting for Catastrophe Adjusters to join our WorkForce Advantage team in Canada.

The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle Property Catastrophe (CAT) claims by telephone and correspondence. The candidate should work effectively with insureds, adjusters, clients, and other stakeholders. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files are essential.

As part of the Workforce Advantage team, you will be on our roster to be contacted and placed on a contract with our clients based on availability and fit. You would be an employee of Crawford & Co. but work at various insurance company offices/sites (remotely). The typical contract duration is 3-12 months, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position.

Responsibilities

  1. Investigate, collect, and analyze claims information.
  2. Accurately record, report, and present files.
  3. Examine policies and settle claims, maintaining claims costs and complying with provincial licensing regulations.
  4. Maintain accurate billing, and time and expense records.
  5. Collaborate with managers to maintain client relations.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of technical claims handling experience in a catastrophe environment.
  • Valid Provincial Adjusters Licence and/or CIP Designation required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to travel on short notice and stay on location for indefinite periods.
  • Catastrophe Adjusters are responsible for their own travel and living expenses during assignments.
  • Ability to climb and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Licenses & Certifications are recommended.
  • Knowledge of Xactimate/Xactware is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mitchell is preferred for auto adjusters.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, technical, and computer skills.
