Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Tactical Security Guard for a Downtown Toronto Academic campus, applying safety protocols to protect staff, students, and visitors.

You’ll patrol, respond to incidents, enforce regulations, and document reports. Must be authorized to work in Canada with Use of Force certification and Ontario Security Guard License; GardaWorld Academy training is provided. This casual role requires 2–3 shifts per week.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada
• Use of Force certification with 1+ year of Tactical security experience
• Ontario Security Guard License
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification
• Experience working with vulnerable population
• Able to commute to Downtown Toronto with no onsite parking
• Knowledge of Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act enforcement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Discretion and professionalism in sensitive situations
• Strong documentation and report-writing abilities
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for the duration of shift
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Suite)
• Self-defence or powers of arrest training is a strong asset

Responsibilities

Responsibilities For Tactical Security Guard

As a Tactical Security Guard assigned to a sensitive educational environment, you’ll be a key player in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for staff, students, and visitors.

Duties Include

• Proactively patrolling high‑traffic areas by foot
• Responding to incidents and emergencies quickly and effectively
• Enforcing the Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, and site‑specific regulations
• Observing and reporting suspicious behaviour or safety hazards
• Assisting in medical emergency response and supporting on‑site evacuations
• Conducting site checks, verifying identity, and managing access points
• Writing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting community engagement efforts to promote safety and awareness
• Collaborating with local law enforcement when required

Qualifications For Tactical Security Guard

• Be Authorized to work in Canada
• Must be Use of Force certified with atleast 1 year Tactical security experience
• Must have valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Must have Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification(WSIB Approved)
• Must have experience working with Vulnerable population
• Must be able to commute to Downtown Toronto with no onsite parking
• Working Knowledge of Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act enforcement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
• Strong documentation and report‑writing abilities
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for the duration of your shift
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Suite)
• Self‑defence, powers of arrest, or EMR training is considered a strong asset
