Casual Support Staff/Clerical Support Staff

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is a dynamic board committed to the delivery of quality educational programs and services. Position Summary

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board welcomes all applications for the Casual Secretarial/Clerical Support Staff position. The Casual Secretarial/Clerical Support Staff will provide clerical and secretarial support necessary for the efficient operation of school offices and Board Offices, in the absence of a permanent secretary. The assignments may be located at any of the schools in our district. As a Casual Secretarial/Clerical Support Staff, you will have the opportunity to select school locations you would like to support. Casual Secretarial/Clerical Support Staff will be placed according to operational needs, day-to-day or on a short-term assignment.

Requirements:

  • A Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office (all applications)
  • Expertise in the use of computer technology (e.g. email, spreadsheets and internet applications)
  • Minimum typing 30 words per minute
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to providing a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to acquire skills in Board specific programs (Student Information Systems, IREN, other board applications)
  • 1-4 years of recent working experience in an office environment
  • Availability to accept assignments on a casual basis during the day and with short notice

Preferred Experience:

  • Bookkeeping and budget skills
  • Familiarity with School Board regulations/policies and procedures
  • Reception/Switchboard
  • Ability to adapt to changing and different environments
  • A valid drivers license is an asset
  • First Aid Certification
