Job summary

Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education (CBVRCE) is seeking casual on-call bus drivers to operate school buses on assigned routes across multiple sites. You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, maintain discipline, and ensure safety standards are met per provincial laws and board policies.

Applicants should have NS driver’s licences (Class 1/2/3 preferred) and a clean driving record; WHMIS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Class 1/2/3 NS Driver’s Licence and 6 months’ experience driving large commercial vehicles (preferred).
• Driver's with a Class 5 NS Licence with a clean record and youth experience may be considered.
• WHMIS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus on assigned route with safety compliance.
• Perform pre-trip inspections daily.
• Complete transportation forms (Hours of Work, Route & Passenger Sheets).
• Maintain discipline on buses per Board policies and procedures.
• Report accidents per policy and keep bus clean.
