Job summary

Chinook School Division is seeking casual bus drivers to transport students safely across multiple locations in Saskatchewan, including Shaunavon, Vanguard and Val Marie. A Class 5 license with S endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to work on an on-call basis are required.

Start date is as soon as possible. Casual employees are paid around CAD 21.18 per hour plus bus expense allowances; training and a criminal record check are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum Class 5 license with School Bus S endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Satisfactory driver’s abstract.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school as assigned.
• Regular cleaning of the bus.
• Adherence to safe bus driving procedures and PPE.
• Regularly communicating with school Administration and Transportation Department.
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections as required by regulations.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to the bus garage.
• Be flexible for on-call routes and varying schedules.
• Promote Chinook School Division’s vision and values.
