Job summary

A regional educational institution in the Niagara Region is seeking a Casual Library Technician to manage library resources and deliver services to secondary school students. The ideal candidate will hold a Library designation from a recognized Community College and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Responsibilities include cataloguing resources, operating library systems, and creating a supportive learning environment. This role offers on-call working up to 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under minimal supervision and organize time efficiently.
• Familiarity with library processes and secondary school environment.
• Previous experience in providing library services.

Responsibilities

• Cataloguing library resources.
• Operating the Follett Automation System and library security.
• Delivering library services to staff and students.
• Supporting an appropriate learning environment in the library.
• Participating in professional development.
• Liaising with ICT Department.
• Performing other library-related duties.
