Job summary

Medcan in Oakville, ON, is seeking a phlebotomy professional to join our team. The role focuses on venipuncture, specimen labeling, and lab service support while ensuring a calm, patient-centered experience.

This casual, permanent position requires accredited phlebotomy training, PLI, CPR, and at least two years of clinical phlebotomy experience; familiarity with EMR systems like Accuro and tools such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Proof of Personal Liability Insurance (PLI) through MLPAO or CSMLS.
• MLPAO certification is an asset.
• Minimum two years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to quality and safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to maintain privacy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
• Experience with Accuro Electronic Medical Record system is an asset.

This is a permanent, casual position based at our Oakville location (2275 Upper Middle Road East). The role is scheduled primarily on Saturdays, with the possibility of additional shifts on other days as operational needs require. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of two shifts per month.

Position Pay Range

$17.49 - $24.05 CAD per hour

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
