Job summary

Atlantic Poultry Incorporated (API) is seeking an Egg Collector to join our barn team. You will gather eggs, keep daily production records, and help maintain clean, orderly barns while following our animal care standards.

Working in a barn setting, you’ll experience dust and variable temperatures. A Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred, with the ability to work independently and safely around live poultry. Prior livestock experience is a plus and health and safety come first.

Job description

API is a proud supporter of the poultry industry, providing feed, chicks, and fresh eggs year around to our customers throughout Atlantic Canada.

The Egg Collector is responsible for gathering eggs on a regular basis. The Egg Collector will work as part of the team ensuring the company’s animal husbandry practices are followed. They will maintain accurate daily records of egg production and other relevant information as well as ensuring the egg room is kept clean and tidy. We have different barn locations, the egg collector is going to be in the barn assigned.

• Gather eggs
• Maintain accurate daily records
• Cleaning the barns
• Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential
• Follow all safety processes and procedures
• All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work with live poultry

Working Conditions

The position operates in a barn setting - dusty at times with strong odours, exposure to cold in winter months and heat in summer months, working alone, and repetitive work. Standing for long periods of time is common.
