Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care in Hermitage, AB is seeking an Early Childhood Educator for a casual/substitute role. You will collaborate with teachers and families to provide a nurturing, home-like environment, delivering a BrightPath curriculum and monitoring children's well-being.

Responsibilities include developing activities, assessing progress, and maintaining a tidy classroom. Certifications in ECE or B.Ed., First Aid/CPR, and provincial requirements are required.

Qualifications

• ECE Level 1 certification or B.Ed./Equivalent.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program aligned with BrightPath's curriculum to support children's development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Assess children's abilities, interests, and needs; discuss progress with families and staff.
• Establish collaborative relationships with colleagues, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining classroom materials and supplies.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath's curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
