Dietary Aide

This position is for our Limestone Ridge, located in Kingston, Ontario.

Available opportunities include Part-Time/Days/Evenings/Weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences, maintaining proper serving temperatures and observing time limits.
• Assist cooks in preparing simple foods such as salads, vegetables, fruits, breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes, following basic instructions.
• Clear plates and trays, load and operate dishwashers, and clean pots, pans, and utensils as per procedures.
• Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
• Adhere to departmental policies regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control.
• Assemble nourishment carts and stock unit kitchenettes.
• Participate in facility meetings and attend in-service education programs as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What You Bring

• Must be a student with the understanding that once no longer a student, employment continuation requires enrollment and completion of the relevant course within 3 years of hire.
• Current Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care) homes (0-1 year).
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to read, write, and understand basic English instructions.
• Ability to work safely following established safety practices.
