Job description

The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education invites applications for BUS DRIVERS for the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education encompassing Colchester, East Hants, Pictou, and Cumberland Counties (Cobequid, Celtic, Nova and Chignecto Families of Schools).

Type of Positions available:
- Casual as needed basis, with no guaranteed hours of work.

Rate of Pay:
- $26.26/hr as per the CCRCE/CUPE Collective Agreement.

Run times vary by location:
- Morning pick-up and drop-off of students: 6:30am to 9:30am approximately.
- Afternoon pick-up and drop-off of students: 1:45pm to 4:45pm approximately.

Applicants must:

  • Have a minimum of Grade 12 high school diploma or academic equivalent through educational programs such as Graduated Equivalent Diploma (GED).
  • Hold a valid Driver’s License, Class 2B with Air Certification (training is offered at no cost to the applicant).
  • Provide a satisfactory Driver Abstract (obtained from the Registry of Motor Vehicles), as applicable.

Where needed, prospective candidates will be required to successfully complete the Driver Training Program conducted by Pupil Transportation staff before commencing employment in any Bus Driver position. Successful applicants will be required to provide a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Vulnerable Sector/Criminal Records Check prior to commencing employment.
