Municipality of North Cowichan is hiring a casual CAC Maintenance Worker to oversee a broad range of mechanical and maintenance tasks at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre. The role involves daily operation, planning and coordination of staff efforts, and possible deployment to other duties as needed.

The candidate should hold Grade 12, a Pool Operators Level II certificate, PoolSafe certification, CPR-C, WHMIS, and a BC Class 5 license. Prior experience in aquatic facility maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Pool Operators Level II or higher
  • PoolSafe certification and CPR level C
  • WHMIS and Building Service Worker training
  • Valid BC Driver's license (Class 5) and clean driving record
  • Experience maintaining aquatic/fitness facilities and basic repairs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily/long-term mechanical operation of CAC
  • Plan, direct and coordinate work activities of staff
  • Self-direct maintenance tasks including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and painting
  • Ensure safety policies, WorkSafe BC and regulatory requirements are followed
