Job summary

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Casual Anaesthesia Assistant to support the Anaesthesiologist at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. The role involves providing clinical assistance in anesthesia procedures, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining equipment. Candidates must have graduated from an accredited Anaesthesia Assistant program or hold a related diploma with relevant clinical experience. This position offers a competitive salary between CAD $42.27 - $52.81 per hour, along with additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Eligible for membership with CSRT and BCSRT.
• Current certification in CPR, ACLS, and NRP.
• 3 years recent related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services under Anaesthesiologist direction.
• Maintains anesthesia related equipment and documentation.
• Assists with airway emergencies and cardiac arrests.

Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of current anesthesia assistant theory and practice

Effective communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Demonstrated skill in CPR techniques

Knowledge of research process and methodology

Education

Graduation from an accredited post-graduate diploma Anaesthesia Assistant Program

Graduation from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy Diploma Program
