Job summary

Metis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc. is seeking an Addictions Worker to support clients, ensure safety, transport clients to activities, and maintain a clean facility. This position reports directly to the Regional Manager.

Shifts are assigned on an as-needed basis: 0830am-1630pm, 1630pm-0030am or 0030am-0830am. The role involves crisis intervention, record-keeping, meal preparation, and assisting with treatment plans under supervision.

Qualifications

• ABE 10 is required.
• 7-11 months of experience in related field or role would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Dynamic supervision and monitoring of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of clients; address concerns in a timely fashion.
• Under guidance from Addictions Counsellors, implement client treatment plans.
• Supervise clients during general household duties.
• Transport clients to out-of-centre programming and medical appointments.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain records in logs and documentation files.
• Perform general cleaning duties including custodial work.
• Provide initial/basic crisis intervention and support.
• Prepare and serve meals at designated times as per plans.
• Ensure evening and weekend programming aligns with treatment program objectives.
• Conduct substance abuse testing for clients in our programs.
• Lead individual and group sessions according to individualized treatment plans.

As an Addictions Worker with the Metis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (MACSI), you will perform a variety of duties that include, ensuring the health and safety of our clients, transporting clients to activities and meetings throughout the community, ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility, and being a representative of MACSI to help our clients with any needs they may have. This position reports directly to the Regional Manager.

• Dynamic supervision and monitoring of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs/conditions of our clients, ensuring concerns are addressed in a timely fashion
• Under guidance and direction from Addictions Counsellors, implement client treatment plan
• Supervise our clients while they participate in general household duties
• Transport our clients to out-of-Centre programming and medical appointments
• Perform various clerical duties
• Perform general cleaning duties including custodial services
• Provide initial/basic crisis intervention and support
• Maintain records of client activity in various logs and documentation files
• Prepare and serve meals at designated times as outlined in the evening and weekend plans
• Ensure the evening and weekend programming at the Centre functions consistently with the treatment program objective set out by the counselling staff
