Job summary

Metis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc. in Prince Albert is seeking an Addictions Worker to support client health and safety, transport clients to activities and appointments, and maintain facility cleanliness.

You will represent MACSI and assist clients with their needs as part of a dynamic team. The role involves shifts on an as-needed basis with 08:30–16:30, 16:30–00:30, or 00:30–08:30, and is permanent with casual terms.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising clients and providing support in a residential or community setting.
• Ability to implement treatment plans under supervision.
• Record-keeping and basic clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Dynamic supervision and monitoring of clients' needs and conditions
• Under guidance from Addictions Counsellors, implement client treatment plans
• Supervise clients during general household duties
• Transport clients to activities and medical appointments
• Perform clerical duties
• Perform cleaning duties including custodial services
• Provide initial/basic crisis intervention and support
• Maintain records of client activity in logs and documentation files
• Prepare and serve meals at designated times
• Ensure evening and weekend programming aligns with treatment objectives
• Perform substance abuse testing for clients
• Lead individual and group sessions per treatment plans

As an Addictions Worker with the Metis Addictions Council of Saskatchewan Inc. (MACSI), you will perform a variety of duties that include, ensuring the health and safety of our clients, transporting clients to activities and meetings throughout the community, ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility, and being a representative of MACSI to help our clients with any needs they may have. This position reports directly to the Regional Manager.

Shifts will be assigned on an as-needed, call-in basis for the following times: 08:30am-16:30 pm, 16:30pm-00:30am or 00:30am-08:30am

Responsibilities, Duties and Performance Expectations:

• o Dynamic supervision and monitoring of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs/conditions of our clients, ensuring concerns are addressed in a timely fashion
• o Under guidance and direction from Addictions Counsellors, implement client treatment plan
• o Supervise our clients while they participate in general household duties
• o Transport our clients to out-of-Centre programming and medical appointments
• o Perform various clerical duties
• o Perform general cleaning duties including custodial services
• o Provide initial/basic crisis intervention and support
• o Maintain records of client activity in various logs and documentation files
• o Prepare and serve meals at designated times as outlined in the evening and weekend plans
• o Ensure the evening and weekend programming at the Centre functions consistently with the treatment program objective set out by the counselling staff
• o Perform substance abuse testing for new and existing clients in our program(s)
• o Lead individual and group sessions according to individualized treatment plans and in accordance with professional standards
