Cashier/POSTAL CLERK
Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a
Cashier/Postal Clerk to join our team at
Sandstone Pharmacies Crescent Heights in
Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Sort and batch incoming and outgoing mail accurately and on time
- Acknowledge and greet all customers with a smile and hello. Maintain a warm, friendly attitude toward all customers
- Request a cash pick-up when large sums of money are accumulated. Anticipate requirements for change before running out.
- Display all goods in the shop properly and arrange them so that customers can discover them quickly.
- Participate in the development and preparation of displays, windows, and seasonal promotions.
- Assist customers with mail-related inquiries and services
- Verify address accuracy, postage, and packaging requirements
- Process transactions such as selling stamps, receiving letters, and handling MoneyGram services
- Weigh and calculate postage for letters and parcels; affix correct postage
- Operate computer systems for data entry and transaction processing
- Perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying as needed
- Support the Front Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager with additional tasks as required
Qualifications
- Accurate cash handling skills with strong computer and POS proficiency
- Previous customer service or cashiering experience preferred; retail and merchandising experience considered an asset
- Clear, courteous communication skills with the ability to manage conflict and solve problems effectively
- Strong multitasking abilities to serve multiple customers in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Professional demeanor, including appropriate grooming and wearing a name tag
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing tasks such as lifting and bending throughout the shift
- This position could include a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
