Job summary

Nature's Fare Markets is seeking a part-time Cashier to join our front-end team in BC. You will greet customers, answer questions, and guide them through purchases with care. You’ll promote loyalty programs and handle payments with accuracy while helping keep the store welcoming and well-stocked.

Part-time hours are flexible across weekdays and weekends, with potential to cross-train in Bistro for extra hours. We value a friendly, customer-first approach and a passion for organic, local foods.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer service role is nice but not required.
• Experience handling money is a plus.
• Great communication skills are essential.
• Passion for local, organic and sustainable food is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 22 kg is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
• Assist customers with questions and direct to the right department when needed.
• Inform customers about loyalty program and smoothie cards.
• Ring up purchases and process payments accurately.
• Send customers off with a friendly farewell.
• Work with the team to keep products and store looking their best.
• Learn about products and promotions in Nature’s Fare flyers and magazines.
• Be a helpful, safety-conscious team member who has fun.

***Thesuccessful applicantcan expect to work part time, between 8 and 16 hours per week,and can expect to be scheduled on weekdays, weekends and acombination of AM and PM shift times. Flexibility to cross-train in Bistro will provide opportunity to increase weekly hours up to 24 hours***

Regular Store Hours:

Mon – Sat 8:00am – 8:00pm
Sun 9:00am – 7:00pm

CASHIER

As part of our front-end team, you are passionate about leaving a positive and lasting impression with those you interact with. You are the first to say hi to others and are passionate about doing the right thing and being kind to those around you! This role guides customers through their purchase and assists with any last-minute questions or product selections. You are a trusted member of the overall team and are responsible for handling payment and transactions with great accuracy.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Give a warm “hello!” to our customers as they enter the store– we like building connections with our new and regular customers and sharing a laugh along the way.
• Assist customers with any last-minute questions they may have about products and call for the specific department team member for help, if needed.
• Let people know about the awesome incentives we have for customers including our customer loyalty program (Fare Points) and smoothie cards.
• Ring through products for the customer, place them in their bag and process payment to complete the transaction.
• Send our customers off with a “See you again soon!” as they exit the store.
• This position works as part of a team and jumps in to help ensure team members are supported and our products and store look their best!
• Learn about new products and featured products that are on sale through Nature’s Fare’s flyers and magazines.
• In other words, you will help others, share your knowledge on our amazing products, be safe, be a great team player and have fun!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Experience in a customer service role would be nice, but it’s not needed.
• Experience handling money and processing transactions is a plus, but not needed.
• Great communication skills
• A passion for local, organic and sustainable food and natural supplements
• Able to stand for long periods of time and deal with exposure to hot and/or cold environments
• Ability to lift 22 kg.
