Independent Grocers Alliance is seeking a friendly cashier to join our Quebec team. The role involves scanning items, processing payments, and delivering accurate transactions with a courteous customer focus.

Availability includes day and evening shifts, with 25–35 hours per week and a flexible work environment. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the opportunity to develop skills in a retail setting.

Competenze

• Experience with cash register systems.
• Experience in a similar position is a plus.
• Able to punch/scan merchandise and handle prices accurately.

Mansioni

• Punch and scan merchandise selected by the customer.
• Ensure accuracy of prices punched/scanned and process cancellations.
• Handle cash and other payment methods and deposits according to policies.
• Balance cash register and meet productivity standards.

What might a typical day look like?

As a cashier, you will :

• punch and/or scan merchandise selected by the customer;
• ensure accuracy of prices punched/scanned and make cancellations according to established standards;
• handle cash and media (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies;
• ensure the balance of the cash register and respect the productivity standards (sales/hours, punching/minute)
