Job summary

Athabasca Tribal Council in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a full-time, permanent social worker to provide delegated case management, intake, assessment and permanency for children and families.

You will collaborate with indigenous communities, attend court, and ensure timely data entry while also supporting after-hours coverage, team meetings and community events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work or related degree with 2+ years of related experience.
• Social Work Diploma or related diploma with 3+ years of related experience.
• Currently delegated or able to be delegated in Alberta.
• Experience with Indigenous communities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated case management duties including intake, assessment and permanency.
• Collaborate with communities and families on safety and permanency plans.
• Attend court and meet legislative requirements.
• Record online data entry in a timely fashion.
• Provide after-hours or on-call response when required.
• Participate in team meetings and community events.
• Perform other duties to support organizational objectives.

• Work collaboratively with communities and families in the creation of safety plans and permanency plans for children.
• Attend court and meet all legislative requirements.
• Recording of online data entry in a timely fashion.
• Provide after-hours or on-call response if required.
• Participate in team meetings and community events.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor of Social Work or related degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Social Work Diploma or related diploma with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Currently delegated or the ability to be delegated in the province of Alberta.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities is considered an asset.

Requirements:

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Child Intervention Record Check.
• Class 5 Drivers License with a clear Drivers abstract.
• Be willing to take necessary ongoing mandatory training related to the position.
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
