Job summary

Children and Families First Delaware Inc. is seeking a dedicated social work professional to provide assessment, planning, counseling, referrals and advocacy for birth families, resource families and children/youth involved in foster care and adoption.

The role requires Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and a commitment to confidentiality, collaboration and continuous professional development. Travel statewide is required, and the position is full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related degree, required. Previous experience in the field, preferred.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to engage diverse populations.
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality and collaboration with partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, counseling/therapy, referrals, advocacy and collateral contacts.
• Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency policies.
• Testify at court hearings and complete necessary court reports/updates.
• Participate in supervision and clinical consultation.
• Establish collaborative relationships with agency and community partners.
• Plan, design and present educational programs for foster care/adoption.
• Participate in training for foster care/adoption parents.
• Maintain confidentiality, quality and productivity standards.
• Position based in Dover, with state-wide travel required.

Description

Provide assessment, planning, counseling/therapy, referrals, advocacy and other services to birth families, resource parents and children/youth that have joined resource families. Work includes both Foster Care and Adoption case work.

• Provide assessment, planning, counseling/therapy, referrals, advocacy, and collateral contacts.
• Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Testify at court hearings as necessary.
• Complete necessary court reports and court updates.
• Participate in regular peer review, individual supervision, and clinical consultation as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with the agency and community.
• Plan, design, and present educational programs as appropriate.
• Participates in training for foster care/adoption parents.
• Maintain agency standards regarding confidentiality, quality, and productivity.
• Position based in Dover, with state-wide travel required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related degree, required. Previous experience in the field, preferred.
