Job summary

Boyle Street Community Services (BSCS) is seeking a Temporary Full Time Adult Case Manager for the Edmonton, AB area. The role emphasizes day-to-day care within the Interdisciplinary Team Den, guiding clients from entry through goal planning, graduation, and post-graduation support.

Reporting to the Interdisciplinary Team Manager, you will build rapport with clients, document interactions, coordinate referrals to community services, and participate in trainings and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with the vulnerable population.
• Ability to respond appropriately in stressful situations and engage in de-escalation tactics when conflict arises.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and data analytics.
• Knowledge of poverty-related issues and urban Indigenous populations.
• Crisis intervention experience preferred.
• Police Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check within the past six months.
• Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course.
• Experience with Indigenous culture and ceremonies is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with community members and work with trauma-exposed individuals respectfully.
• Maintain accurate written documentation of interactions according to den standards.
• Refer community members to community-based services and advocate when needed.
• Deliver crisis intervention, including risk assessment and follow-up until stabilization.
• Organize and facilitate case planning meetings with den and community members.
• Attend team and organizational meetings; participate in trainings and development.
• Complete administrative duties as required.
• Participate in outreach and emergency response efforts as needed.

Salary Range: $25.20 To $26.35 Hourly

HOURS:Monday-Friday (37.5 hours per week)

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 3 months, with possibility of extension

Reporting to Interdisciplinary Team Manager, the Adult Case Manager works within the Interdisciplinary Team Den and is responsible for the day-to‑day care of community members in their den with emphasis on mature, adult issues. This includes trial entry into the den, through to goal planning, graduation, and post‑graduation.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist the Interdisciplinary Team Manager, in the daily operations of the den by working closely with community members in meeting their day‑to‑day needs.
• Support the creation of an inclusive,safeand friendly environment for all staff, communitymembersand external parties.
• Build rapport with community members byidentifyingstrengths and working in a respectful way with a demographic who has faced trauma and social exclusion.
• Maintainaccurateand comprehensive written documentation of all den community members related interactionsin accordance withden standards.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of programs offered within the den and throughout the organization to be able to refer community members.
• Refer community members to community‑based services and advocate on their behalf when needed inan appropriate manner.
• Deliver crisis intervention as needed, including risk assessment and follow‑up until the situation has stabilized.
• Organize andfacilitatecase planning meetings, inclusive of entire den and community members.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming workspace andden
• Attend team and organizational meetings asrequired.
• Participate in required trainings and professional development.
• Complete any administrative duties asrequired.
• All other duties as outlined by program manager.
• All staff at BSCS are expected toparticipatein occasional outreach and emergency response efforts (e.g., winter response) to support and engage with clients.
• BSCS is more than a workplace. This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine pickingetc.

Qualifications

• Class 5-non GDL driver’slicence, access to a reliable personal vehicle with $2,000,000 liability insurance, and a clean driver’s abstract
• Post‑secondary Degree in a relevant field of study
• Minimum 6 months’ experience working with the vulnerablepopulation
• Ability to respond appropriately in stressful situations and engage in de‑escalation tactics when conflictarises
• Strong multi‑tasking and organizational skills that can be applied to the use of Microsoft applications and dataanalytics
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of poverty related issues, trends, and services particularly, but not limited to the urban aboriginal population isessential
• Previousexperience with crisis‑interventionpreferred
• Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past sixmonths
• Valid First Aid certificate orenrolled ina futurecourse
