Job summary

Brookfield Residential is seeking a Carpenter & Quality Control Technician in Calgary, AB. You will audit construction conformance to plans, codes and quality standards while performing general woodworking and detailing on housing units.

You will support the site construction team, handle blueprints, use hand and power tools, and ensure safety compliance as part of Brookfield's high workmanship standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of general carpentry experience or active carpentry apprenticeship.
• Strong blueprint-reading, organizational, computer, and detail-oriented skills.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Safety training certificates (e.g. First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-backfill, framing and mechanical complete quality checks.
• Use levels, rulers, plumb bobs, framing squares for quality assurance.
• Lead coordination with municipal authorities and contractors for code compliance.
• Provide formal documentation of quality control checks to managers.
• Review and audit homes under construction daily for fit, finish and function.
• Audit installed materials, life systems, fixtures and appliances for quality.
• Participate in Brookfield Safety Program.
