Job summary

Datoff Construction is seeking experienced Carpenters and Carpenter Apprentices to join our Northern British Columbia team. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing material take-offs, and assisting with demolition while erecting scaffolding and framing with wood and steel studs.

We require a Red Seal or current apprenticeship enrollment, 2+ years of construction experience, and a strong commitment to site safety and teamwork on long projects across remote locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction.
• Knowledgeable in tools and materials for job completion.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and perform material take-offs.
• Assist with demolition and debris removal.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding on site.
• Frame using wood and steel studs; perform finish carpentry.
• Communicate site conditions and safety concerns clearly.
• Adhere to workplace safety procedures.

Datoff Construction is a long-standing General Contractor in Northern B.C. We bring pride in our projects and enjoy a lively work environment. We work in Commercial, Civil, and Industrial Construction and seeking experienced seeking Carpenters and Carpenter Apprentices.Tasks include forming and pouring foundations, framing, installation of doors and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable in building code and construction math
• Experience in preparing material take-offs and reading blueprints
• Assist with demolition and debris removal
• Erecting and disassembling of scaffolding
• Experience in wood and steel stud framing application
• Experience in finish carpentry skills
• Affectively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may affect the completion of a job
• Practice workplace safety

Qualifications

• 2 + years’ experience in construction
• Knowledgeable in the use and application of tools and materials for job completion
• Ability to work well with a team and on your own
• Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written
• A keen eye to details and good decision making
• Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
• Ability to take and follow instruction from supervisor

Additional information

Datoff Bros. bids projects throughout Northern BC. Travel and work in remote locations may be required.

Working hours: 40–60 hours per week.

Minimum experience: 2 years.
