Position: Journeyperson Carpenter - Trinity Project (Toronto)

Project Type: Buildings

Project Location: Toronto

Shift: Day or Night

Schedule: Monday to Friday - OT (this could include occasional weekends) as per site needs

We are currently recruiting for a Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter to join the Trinity project at the University in Toronto!

This position is in Toronto, ON and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.

In the role you will:

  1. Ensuring projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining high quality standards
  2. Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
  3. Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
  4. Operation of telehandler in tight spaces as needed
  5. Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
  6. Acts as a work leader and mentor
  7. Able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  8. Competent with using power tools of all ranges – this could include tools such as saws, routers, table saws
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  1. Preference will be given to a Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  2. Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  3. Must have safety tickets: WHMIS, Working at Heights Ticket, and 4 Step Safety Certificate
  4. Experience in multiple phases of construction, from foundation work to finishing
  5. Ability to coach, mentor and train apprentices
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  7. Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  8. Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada
