Are you ready to kickstart your career in the carpentry/construction industry? Tlicho Community Builders (TCB) is seeking a motivated and hardworking Carpenter Apprentice to join our team in Behchokǫ̀, NT. This exciting opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in residential and commercial construction.

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you’ll work directly under the guidance of a Red-Seal Carpenter, learning everything from framing to finishing and beyond. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to grow your career over a four-year period, leading to a Carpenter trade certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in framing, drywall installation, roofing, and finishing tasks under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
  • Prepare construction materials and assist with other carpentry tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling.
  • Follow blueprints, specifications, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality work.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized worksite and assist in tool and equipment management.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and pursue learning opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma.
  • Eligible and eager to register as an Apprentice.
  • Previous construction or carpentry experience is a plus.
  • Strong interest in learning and developing a career in carpentry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (training will be provided).
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license considered an asset.
