We seek a diligent individual passionate about the events setup industry and PNE. The Carpenter will be responsible for carpentry duties including maintenance, renovation projects, event setup, and asset maintenance across the PNE site, operating vehicles and tools in compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform carpentry duties for maintenance and renovation projects
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches
  • Prepare layouts according to building codes
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials
  • Build foundations, install flooring, walls, and roof systems
  • Install trim items like doors and hardware
  • Operate carpentry tools and equipment safely
  • Ensure project completion within deadlines
  • Build and dismantle event platforms
  • Complete work documentation
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of carpentry experience
  • Red Seal Trade Qualification (TQ) in carpentry
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Thorough knowledge of carpentry methods and tools
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and reports
  • Reliable attendance
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at heights and lift heavy materials
  • Physically capable of working in awkward positions
  • Knowledge of safety precautions in construction trades
  • Availability to work Friday to Monday, 7:00AM – 5:00PM
  • Successful candidates will undergo a Criminal Record Check
