Job summary

JY SHINWOO CONSTRUCTION LTD. in British Columbia is seeking experienced carpenter to read blueprints, measure and cut, and assemble wood components for residential and commercial projects.

You will work on foundations, walls, roofs, install windows and doors, and perform renovations. This role requires 3–5 years of experience, physical stamina, and ability to work in a dusty, noisy site.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years of carpentry experience
• Read blueprints and build to codes
• Physically capable for demanding work
• Experience with wood and wood substitutes a plus

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Estimate costs and materials
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
