Carpenters are responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing the structural woodwork and related materials within West Edmonton Mall.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
2. Install structures and fixtures such as frames, floorings, and trim using hand tools or power tools.
3. Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded.
4. Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes and West Edmonton Mall building requirements.
5. Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
6. May supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of apprentice carpenters and labourers.
7. Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications

1. Valid Red Seal Carpentry Certification or 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice.
2. A minimum of three (3) years experience in a Commercial or Industrial Carpenter environment.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
4. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
5. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and the ability to provide a 3-year driver’s abstract.
6. Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.

Terms Of Employment

1. This is a full-time position required Monday through Friday.
