Wage: $26-$41.00 per hour (based on experience and education)

Job Description

The carpenter is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings.

Required knowledge includes: construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control and safety.

The carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, formwork, and reading blueprints. The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates.

Qualifications
  • Current journeyman carpenter’s certificate and Red seal is an asset
  • Valid EWP and fall protection tickets are a plus
  • Experience with Peri formwork is an asset
  • WorkSafeBC required
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools. Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, and safe lifting and handling procedures, first aid and CPR.
