Purpose

The Journeyperson Carpenter in this role will assist the Site Maintenance and Services Team in completing diverse maintenance projects both across site and in the camp.

The Red Chris Site Maintenance team is recruiting for a Carpenterwith a competitive hourly rate of $55.14.We are seeking an individual for a Fly-In/Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotating schedule.

Essential Duties

The scope of the Carpenter role will include but is not limited to:

  • Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Maintenance and preventative maintenance of production, service and support equipment
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease repair times and streamline work processes
  • Use of computer to input work orders, parts, lists, pick tickets, equipment information, troubleshooting feedback and shift turnover notes
  • The mentorship and training of apprentices
  • Assist with other maintenance activities as required
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • Input timesheets, material information, equipment information and work orders electronically via SAP.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • Blueprints and Construction estimating experience.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Roofing Repairs and Maintenance
  • Other duties as required.
Training & Experience
  • Valid Interprovincial Journeyperson Carpenter Red Sealcertification is required
  • Minimum 5 yearsexperiencepost Red Seal qualification
  • Previous mine site maintenance experience is preferred
  • Prior Scaffolding experience is an asset
  • Bridge building and maintenance experience is an asset

The expected salary range for this role is CA$55.14/hr. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
