Job Description

The responsibilities include:

  • Preparing EI&C (Electrical, Instrumentation and Control) documentation such as Control Panel Schematic, Instrument Block Diagram, Single Line Diagram, Logic Diagram, and Control Narrative, ensuring compliance with customer expectations and engineering standards.
  • Participating in project team meetings and discussions.
  • Collaborating with the project team to plan EI&C and related tasks.
  • Working closely with the EI&C Lead and team to complete documentation within timelines.
  • Designing project-specific PLC and HMI programming according to standards.
  • Reviewing and designing EI&C documentation per customer and internal standards.
  • Researching and selecting suitable components for control panel designs.
  • Supporting instrumentation selection and configuration.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project documents.
  • Completing electrical installation, factory acceptance testing, pre-commissioning, and component testing.
  • Traveling domestically and internationally for site acceptance testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Leading site coordination and guiding customer personnel to support project completion.
  • Preparing technical reports on site activities and troubleshooting.
  • Conducting on-site training for operations and maintenance staff.
  • Building positive relationships with site personnel.
  • Upholding company policies, procedures, and safety standards, including ISO requirements.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Engineering Technician or Technologist qualification in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics; CET is an asset.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
Knowledge
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency with EI&C design software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical) and programming software (Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View).
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and National Electrical Codes is an asset.
Work Environment
  • Typical hours: 37.5 hours/week, with potential additional hours.
  • Office and shop settings.
  • Hybrid work arrangement.
  • Travel up to 50% to project and customer sites.
