Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences in Victoria, BC, is seeking a Dishwasher to join our Dining Services team. You will help run a clean, safe kitchen, washing dishes and utensils, and ensuring residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience.

The role requires a secondary school education or equivalent, Food Handler certification, and prior dishwashing or kitchen experience. Strong teamwork and clear communication with colleagues and residents are essential to maintain high cleanliness and safety

Qualifications

Secondary school education or equivalent.
Food Handler certification (training provided if needed).
Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience, preferably in a retirement residence or hospitality setting.
Teamwork skills and good communication skills to interact with colleagues and residents.
A customer-focused mindset and commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment by hand or in an industrial dishwasher.
Keep kitchen equipment, floors, and work areas clean and sanitized.
Empty garbage bins and take waste to the proper disposal area.
Keep storage and utility rooms tidy and sanitary.
Help with receiving and storing food supplies as needed.
