Job summary

Spring Living is seeking a part-time Dishwasher in Ottawa, ON to support our retirement homes with clean kitchens and efficient dishwashing operations. The role reports to the Director of Culinary Services and requires reliable, team‑oriented individuals who care for residents.

Duties include loading, operating and emptying the dishwasher, keeping surfaces and equipment clean, following food handling procedures, and participating in staff meetings and training to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Empathy for elderly and ability to get along with residents.
• Ability to follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Capacity to work accurately and quickly in a kitchen environment.
• VPS screening within the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Load, operate and empty dishwashers, putting dishes away.
• Maintain a clean cooking area including tables, stoves and storage.
• Damp mop floors and clean other equipment as required.
• Follow resident rights and contribute to a respectful environment.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
