Job summary

ALCDSB is hiring a Caretaker I, Part Time at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Kingston. The role involves daily housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for staff and students. Evening shifts and a 0.8130 FTE workload are specified with 6.5 hours per day, five days a week.

The position expects a High School Diploma or equivalent, caretaking experience, and the ability to operate site equipment. A PRC will be required for employment in this school district.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work related experience.
  • 3 to 6 months caretaking experience;
  • Experience using various equipment (lawn tractor, hand tools, floor machines, auto scrubbers);
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Fire Safety Standards and procedures, as well as security procedures;
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position;
  • Proven ability to read and write English;
  • Ability to lift maximum 25 kg. (55 lb.).

This position is open to all CUPE employees. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for CUPE local 1479 to permanent internal candidates. Temporary employees will have their applications considered prior to external applicants.

Hourly Rate:

$24.01 - $27.58 per hour
