Job summary

ComForCare Home Care is seeking a compassionate Portuguese-speaking Caregiver/PSW to support a client in Milton, Ontario. The role includes personal care, companionship, respite, and help with daily routines as outlined in the care plan.

The position requires Portuguese language ability, English literacy, and a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to reach the client’s home. Training and a flexible schedule are offered to support family care needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a provincially approved PSW, CNA, or Health Care Aide program is an asset.
• Successful completion of PSW/HHA skills assessment.
• Successful completion of the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) test.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the role.
• Ability to speak Portuguese is required; Spanish is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to insured vehicle, or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
• Support safe mobility, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises per care plan.

Portuguese-Speaking Caregiver / PSW

Location: Milton, Ontario

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Portuguese-speaking Caregiver / Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support a client in Milton. The successful candidate will provide personal care, companionship, respite, and assistance with daily household routines.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal care

• Assist with bathing or showering, dressing, grooming, shampooing, and oral hygiene.
• Support safe mobility, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises as outlined in the care plan.
• Provide assistance with incontinence care and basic skin care.
• Plan and prepare meals.

Companionship and household support

• Provide companionship and respite for the client’s family.
• Assist with routine light housekeeping, such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping, washing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning the bathroom.

Medication reminders

• Remind the client about medications they self-administer, in accordance with the care plan.
• Medication administration is not part of this role.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a provincially approved Personal Support Worker, Certified Nurse Aide, or Health Care Aide program—or equivalent experience—is an asset.
• Successful completion of the PSW/HHA skills assessment.
• Successful completion of the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) test.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the role.
• Ability to speak Portuguese is required; Spanish is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to an insured vehicle, or reliable transportation suitable for the job.
