Home Instead CAREGiver Job Description

Home Instead is seeking caring and compassionate CAREGivers to join our team and help us fulfill our mission of improving the lives of aging adults in our community. We provide non-medical services that enable seniors to stay in their homes and face aging with dignity, care, and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping and meal preparation
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Assistance with grooming, bathing, toileting, and incontinence issues
• Alzheimer’s Care

*No previous experience necessary; skills training provided by Home Instead.*

Qualifications

• Ability to treat seniors and their property with dignity and respect
• Friendly and effective communication skills
• Criminal background check, vulnerable sector check, and 3 references
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle with insurance are assets but not essential; driver’s abstract required
• Experience as a Personal Support Worker or in Developmental Services is an asset but not required
