The Job Resource Centre is looking for a Career Coach to support job seekers across the Bow Valley as they explore options, build confidence, and move toward meaningful work. This role is a good fit for someone who combines strong coaching skills with practical labour market knowledge, digital confidence, and a collaborative approach to community-based service.
You will work one-to-one and in groups with job seekers to identify goals, strengthen job search skills, prepare for employment, and connect with relevant resources and opportunities. You will also collaborate with employers, community partners, and public agencies to support practical, inclusive employment outcomes.
This is a full-time contract position ending March 31, 2027 (with possibility of extension), based out of our Banff and Canmore offices.
What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Support job seekers through intake conversations, goal setting, job search planning, résumé and cover letter development, interview preparation, and job retention support.
- Provide one-to-one and group-based coaching in career planning, job search strategies, résumé and cover letter development, interview preparation, and job retention skills.
- Support job seekers to identify and pursue suitable employment opportunities by aligning opportunities with their skills, experience, interests, and goals.
- Maintain current knowledge of the local and regional labour market, industry trends, hiring patterns, and relevant employment legislation to provide informed guidance to job seekers and employers.
- Maintain current knowledge of community resources and income-support related programs that may affect employment participation, stability, and job retention.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, training providers, and public agencies to support service coordination and identify opportunities for job seekers.
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions on job readiness topics such as professional communication, problem-solving, digital job search, and workplace expectations.
- Connect job seekers with appropriate community resources and supports, and coordinate referrals where needed to help address barriers to employment and job retention.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete job seeker records, case notes, reports, and service documentation in accordance with organizational and funder requirements.
- Represent the organization at community events, employer meetings, and partner initiatives, and contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Support inclusive employment practices by helping identify workplace accommodations and practical supports in collaboration with job seekers, employers, and partner agencies.

- Office equipment, including printer, scanner, photocopier, and presentation technology
- Virtual meeting, presentation, and communication platforms (for example, Teams, Zoom, and webinar tools)
