Job summary

County of Renfrew invites applications for a part-time Physiotherapy Assistant at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew. The role supports residents in long-term care under supervision of a licensed physiotherapist, updating care plans and coordinating therapy services.

Requirements include a Physiotherapist Assistant diploma (OT diploma asset), Food Safety certificate, and strong communication and teamwork abilities. Shift work and 24/7 coverage are expected; prior LTC experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Physiotherapist Assistant diploma from a recognized community college.
• Certificate – Food Safety Awareness Program recognized by a Public Health Unit.
• Experience in a Long Term Care setting an asset.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, sound judgment and teamwork ability.
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties.
• Ability to meet shift work requirements in a 24/7 operation.
• Demonstrated regular attendance and health requirements per regulations.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada; Vulnerable Sector Check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goal oriented therapeutic programs to residents under supervision.
• Maintain and update resident plan of care in collaboration with the team.
• Assist with seating, mobility equipment tagging and inventory.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs for rehabilitation devices.
• Assist with dining, documentation and referrals for therapy services.
• Support education and orientation for staff on safe handling and lifting.
