Role Overview

The Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting residents within Orchard homes. We ensure everyone is cared for with dignity, respect, and engagement, tailoring support to individual needs. You will help residents participate in meaningful activities and receive the best support possible.

Main Duties

• Support residents to remain as independent as possible, providing personal care such as washing, dressing, and oral care.
• Be patient and understanding, encouraging participation in leisure activities suited to individual preferences, including supporting outside appointments and outings.
• Assist with making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Help serve meals and drinks, presenting them attractively and supporting residents during mealtimes.
• Comply with statutory and legal requirements, including Health & Safety, COSHH, Care Standards Act, and Infection Prevention and Control policies to ensure a safe environment.
