Job Description

Accountabilities

• Provides support and personal care services to tenants, including medication reminders and administration, following established care plans.
• Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical and emotional status to the appropriate health professionals.
• Assists with activities, meal times, and safety monitoring.
• Maintains resident confidentiality and safety practices.
• Participates in staff meetings, training, and team collaboration.
• Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with personal service plans.

Internal: Executive Director, Assisted Living Manager, LPNs, staff, residents

External: Visitors to Southview

Leadership Responsibility

Reports to: Veeta Deol

Direct reports: Assisted Living Manager

Working Conditions

Location: Southview Heights & Terrace, 7252 Kerr Street, Vancouver, BC

Qualifications

• Health Care Worker or Assistant certificate/diploma from an accredited Canadian school, including medication administration training.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Food Safe, WHMIS, Criminal Record Check, TB test.

Experience & Skills

• Experience supporting elderly or disabled in senior housing preferred.
• Attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, and good communication skills.
• Good health and emotional stability required.

Compensation

Range: $23.30 to $25.48, up to $27.65 based on experience and qualifications. Reasonable accommodations available upon request via [e-mail].
