Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Cardiology Technologist to join the Electrocardiography team at Lions Gate Hospital. The incumbent will perform cardiac diagnostic tests such as ECG, standard and nuclear stress testing, and Holter monitoring, and will analyze results for interpretation by medical staff in urgent and emergent care settings.

Education includes a Diploma in Cardiology Technology, CSCT certification, and CTABC eligibility.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Cardiology Technology with related experience or equivalent education/training.
• Successful CSCT certification exam completion.
• Eligible for CTABC membership.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac diagnostic tests including ECG, standard and nuclear stress testing, and Holter monitoring.
• Analyze results and prepare summaries for medical staff interpretation in urgent/emergent care.
• Maintain current professional standards and ensure quality of care.

Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, the Cardiology Technologist conducts various cardiac diagnostic tests such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), standard and nuclear stress testing, and Holter monitoring, and analyzes results and summarizes for interpretation by medical staff in an urgent/emergent care environment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. Education & Experience

• Diploma in Cardiology Technology plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification exam.
• Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC).
