Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform a range of cardiac ultrasound procedures, including 2-D, Doppler and M-Mode, with support for TransEsophageal Echo, stress echoes and contrast studies. The role requires graduation from a recognized Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program, certification with Sonography Canada or ARDMS, and a valid BC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography.
• Certified with Sonography Canada or ARDMS or be certified with Sonography Canada and have passed CCSA.
• Completion of Intravenous Therapy training or equivalent IV experience when required by site practice.
• BC Driver's License and personal vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures (2-D, Doppler, M-Mode) and support TransEsophageal Echo, stress echoes, and contrast procedures.
• Receive requisitions, enter data and measurements into the diagnostic imaging information system.
• Prepare patients for specific procedures and ensure patient safety.
• Participate on committees, teams and approved research projects as assigned.
